Year Three Child: You know Mrs G, my Mum doesn't believe any of this. She says it's a lot of rubbish.

Catechist: Does she Darling?

Year Three Child: Yes, and it’s a pity. If only she could come and hear the things you tell us; she’d be so much happier. She is always angry and sad.

...and this is why we have Catechists: members of our parish who go each week into our six State Primary Schools and take Christian Education Classes suitable for all children no matter to which Christian Church, if any, they belong.

Catechists follow a set program, "Religion in Life" with Teachers’ Notes and Children’s Worksheets. While we recognize that the half hour instruction is very little, we know for sure that the brief contact is for many of the children their only Christian formation.

Our Parish Religious Education Office keeps a valuable resource library of relevant books, videos, tapes, pictures etc both for classroom use and teacher enrichment.
